N ot in my wildest dreams
O r my most fervent prayers did I think I would
V enture into the published world as a novelist,
E ven though I have had a
L ove for the written word since I was young.
R elating a story of 90,000 words takes
E motional fortitude, especially when the task
L ingers for seven years and querying results in
E leven plus eleven plus eleven rejections!
A nd then I queried one more time,
S o hoping to land a contract, and when I did
E verything changed: I really went to work crafting, honing, and editing.
D idn’t know I was a novelist until I was one. That statement is a fact.
A nd now I hold in my hand a copy of my novel, and all I can say is
Y AY! And thank you to my God for this dream come true.
